2025 Annual Meeting

Friends Of Gamble Rogers State Park Annual Meeting for Members

The Friends of Gamble Rogers State Park held their annual membership meeting and holiday party event on Thursday, December 11th. Seventy people came together to celebrate the 2025 achievements of the Friends group, elect new officers and board members, and share in a potluck smorgasbord of delicious homemade dishes. The evening was made even more festive by the infamous PPE (Park Players Ensemble) Band, who filled the pavilion with holiday carols and had everyone joyfully singing along.

Outgoing Board President Greg Wilson was honored for his six years of steadfast leadership, guiding the Friends group with vision, dedication, and a genuine passion for both the mission and the people of the park. His commitment has strengthened our programs, broadened our reach, and inspired many individuals to volunteer and partner with the park. Yet it is Greg’s integrity and his remarkable ability to build community within the board that leave the most enduring impact.

Connie Schrider joined the board in February 2022 and wasted no time becoming fully engaged in many projects. She is the rare kind of person who doesn't just talk about making things happen...she makes them happen! She took the lead in strengthening the group’s fundraising efforts by developing a successful merchandise program that now generates roughly $5,000 each year. Her commitment to community engagement was equally invaluable—she crafted thoughtful Facebook posts, coordinated outreach events, and represented the group with enthusiasm and professionalism. She also played a pivotal role in carrying out the Athletic Brewing Company grant to revamp the kayak program, maintaining meticulous records of expenditures, timelines, and requirements. Connie has turned ideas into action and visions into well-executed reality!
